My career started as a newspaper reporter and editor at two daily newspapers. As a reporter, I met a teenager who had killed his stepfather. I was upset to learn that he had not spoken to his public defender and admitted to me that he had committed the murder. I was concerned about the ethical implications of printing his admissions, so I started to explore law schools to become a public defender. I completed several internships while attending Florida A&M University College of Law, and then I started in private practice in Sanford in 2005. After doing family and criminal law, I decided to switch career paths to raise my two sons. I taught law at Full Sail University and public speaking at Valencia College until 2008. I then returned to the law as a paralegal and then as a part-time attorney in probate. In 2021, I started working for the state of Florida as an attorney for the Department of Children and Families. I loved representing the state of Florida in dependency cases to protect the safety of children. I am an associate attorney at Korshak & Associates representing the interests of my various clients.
