Wills, Probate and Guardianship

Wills/Probate:

Many people are unfamiliar with the process of the distribution of assets after death. The result of the unfamiliarity is that people, who do not have a Will, have their assets distributed according to state laws. The legal team of Korshak & Associates can discuss the process to you, assist you with drafting your Will, assist your heirs in carrying out the terms of your Will and help settle your affairs after you are gone.

Guardianship:

A minor child who inherits monies or property may need to have a guardian of the property appointed to oversee these assets. The guardian of the property must file reports, accountings, and meet other requirements. The team of Korshak & Associates has experience representing guardians and assisting the guardians of the property in meeting these requirements.

An adult person, who is incapacitated, may need to have a legal guardian appointed. The process involves a hearing on a Petition for Incapacity, an examination by a committee, and the filing of several documents. The guardian of a person must also file reports and may have to file accountings, as well as meeting other requirements. Our legal team has experience representing families through the process and assisting guardians in meeting the Court's requirements.
